As of the Fall 2024 semester, students cannot declare a concentration in Human Resources Management. Current students who previously declared a major or minor in Human Resources Management will be advised through completion of their degrees. Once their studies are complete, a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management will no longer be conferred by Converse University.
Converse’s Human Resource Management concentration develops your understanding of people, your ability to mediate in the workplace, and the leadership to address multifaceted challenges. A Business Administration concentration in Human Resource Management is an asset to virtually any industry, opening doors to job opportunities straight out of college. From understanding employee benefits and hiring practices to professional training sessions, a career in human resources is fulfilling and flexible.

Today’s human resources workers manage recruitment and compensation, as well as consult with top executives regarding strategic planning. Human resource careers demand a wide range of personal qualities and skills, from the ability to work with diverse employees to the active promotion of organizational goals. As a human resource manager, you will have the ability to work in nearly any type of business.

The Business Administration major and the Human Resource Management concentration are designed to provide you with a broad understanding of the way businesses operate. You will learn reporting practices and gain a deep understanding of organizational theories of culture change. You will gain expertise in the different types and styles of business management. Our faculty will guide you to examine the ethical and legal context of the profession.
